What a manuscript assessment reveals

After months or years of drafting, it becomes difficult to see your manuscript as a reader will. An assessment offers that distance.
Structure before sentences
Polishing prose in a chapter that may later be cut is rarely efficient. An assessment identifies the larger questions first.
- Does the opening establish the right promise?
- Is the pacing serving the story?
- Are character arcs complete?
With those answers, revision becomes focused rather than overwhelming.
